The "CQMumbai2022" Annual Amateur Radio Convention in Mumbai City was held successfully on October 9, 2022, at the K.J. Somaiya Institute of Technology and Engineering in Sion. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 limitations, the event drew attendees from Mumbai and other cities, including Hyderabad.The event featured lively technical seminars delivered by famous ham operators that focused on the most recent advancements in amateur radio technology. Notable speakers include: Ashhar Farhan (VU2ESE): Introduced Software Defined Radio (SDR) and demonstrated its functionality with his product, sBitx, which automates many traditional radio tasks.

Charudatt Uplap (VU2UPX) showed off his DIY transceivers (ADX and Nano uSDX), demonstrating how compact, lightweight radios can improve DX adventures. Gopal Kamat (VU2JE) delivered an informative presentation on QO100 satellite communication. Prof. C.S. Kulkarni (VU2CHD) presented practical techniques to using ham radio in urban contexts, including creative antenna designs for limited space. Rajesh Huddar (VU3RHU) talked about the Gawant Antenna, a tiny vertical antenna that improves portability for mobile radio sets.

Kiran Padiyar (VU2XE) discussed the freedom of radio operation and techniques for overcoming urban interference difficulties. Attendees saw live demonstrations of sBitx, ADX, and Nano uSDX transceivers, which helped them better understand contemporary radio technologies.
